Same-day tour offers — incident, harness, fixes

Clara offered tomorrow to prospects who could have toured today. This page is the one place for the incident, the cause, the fixes and the three calls we need from you.

The short version

On Friday 10/9 two Western Slope prospects for 2841 Morningside Court were offered Saturday only. Friday was wide open on the backup shower's calendar (Kat out Thu 10/8 to Mon 10/12, Ryan free).

Clara's first reply has never looked at today when the prospect named no day: 48 of 48 cases. We sent corrections to both prospects at 9:28 AM MT.

The evidence: why it happened, was it offered, why nobody saw it

Why it happened

Two rules agree with each other, and the model just follows them.

RULE 1 · THE CODE The slot walk starts at tomorrow. From a March 2026 prototype. Kept in #4233 (July 21: "same-day is a separate open product question") and #8373 (Sept 13). Also fills the "Tour slots:" line. RULE 2 · THE PROMPT First-message gate: "earliest date mentioned, or tomorrow if no date." Example: check_availability(tomorrow). Since April (#163). The model checks Saturday Prospect hears Sat only
Two rules, one answer. Fixing only one leaves the other pulling the model back to tomorrow.

"The known tour slots are Saturday and Sunday 10am–2:30pm… I'll check Saturday at 4 PM."

  • Before Aug 22 the model wrote an ISO next-day date. After, it wrote the word "tomorrow". Same result.
  • One same-day success exists: a prospect typed "any time today?" on 10/2. The machinery works once it is asked.

Why nobody saw it

  • Voice uses a different tool, and callers say "today".
  • Prospects who name a day get booked, so the good cases hid the gap.
  • No test ever asked for today. The 9/13 walk refactor said "no same-day case in play".
  • The database held the signal (19 of 19 lookups said tomorrow) and nothing read it.

Decisions for Fede

Your pick saves on this page. Each has a recommendation.

A. How many days of times does the first reply offer?

Today it stops after 2 days with slots or 4 slots, and offers one morning and one afternoon time.

B. How far ahead can a tour be booked?

Today: 14 days.

C. Western Slope's weekend tours: the text and the hours disagree

The knowledge text says "Tours Mon–Fri 9 am–6 pm" (written 9/26 by a script named weekend-tours-off). The stored tour hours include Sat/Sun 10–3 with the before-weekend cutoff, which matches your 9/26 words: "we allow weekends but they have to be booked during the week by Friday." This is a customer knowledge write and needs your yes.
