Part 2 of Gera's 2026-10-03 notes on the Company | Property bar
3 Oct 2026 · branch fix/settings-scope-switch-p2 · captured against propflow-stage · at 3002318c5a0+local
Data note. Every name and balance below comes from propflow-stage, which is anonymized by construction (ADR-0097/0110 — phones in the impossible +1000 NPA, emails @example.test). The identical capture against prod would carry real tenants' names and balances and is not safe to attach anywhere, which is why the generator refuses to run against one.
Main today (part 1 merged): the building chip, plus Company and the building side by side in split view, plus the Split view switch.
Asserted in the captured DOM — Leasing · Split view
No Split view. The building's chip is the tab, and the grid shows that building's column alone.
There's no caption row: one column needs none, because the tab names it. Company is one click away on its tab. Edits in a column you switch away from are kept by the one save bar.

The + adds a building and shows it. The first building stays a chip, and the chips keep a fixed order. This test company has two buildings, so with both on the bar the + is gone: it only offers buildings that aren't already there.
Asserted in the captured DOM — Leasing
Company shows the company column alone. Both buildings stay on the bar as chips, ready to click.
Asserted in the captured DOM — Leasing
Phone width: the chips and + in the scrolling strip, with one column below.

Dark theme.

Removing the buildings goes back to Company, and the Property tab opens the list again. No building is picked for you. That fixes the old "exit a property, click Split, and it comes back" bug.

This removes a control (the Split view switch) and a layout (side-by-side columns). It adds nothing new: the chips and + are part 1's. There are no new colours or icons. One column at a time keeps the compact settings width with no sideways scroll inside the grid. Second critique round: the phone strip overflows into a sideways scroll at two chips (the thin bar from part 1). The focused chip carries both the fill and the sliding underline, so the tab is clear in both themes.
