Onboarding — no buildings step; Review points to Settings → Buildings

Buildings on/off REVISION 3 part B

30 Sept 2026 · branch feat/onboarding-drop-buildings-step · captured against propflow-stage · at 1c317c7842

Data note. Every name and balance below comes from propflow-stage, which is anonymized by construction (ADR-0097/0110 — phones in the impossible +1000 NPA, emails @example.test). The identical capture against prod would carry real tenants' names and balances and is not safe to attach anywhere, which is why the generator refuses to run against one.

Screenshots and critique rounds

1 · Pick your buildings — the sentence names where buildings are turned on

The wizard's built-in layout fixture (28 invented buildings), because a real portfolio pull needs a stored AppFolio credential. The one line under the heading now says where the customer turns buildings on: under Settings → Buildings, not next. Continue goes straight to Review.

Asserted in the captured DOM — Here's what we found · You'll turn on the ones you want under Settings → Buildings.

2 · Review — with the pointer to Settings → Buildings

Reached by pressing Continue on the import, as a customer does. There is no Turn on your buildings screen between them, so Review is step 3 of 5 again (the bar at three fifths). Under the escalation line, one sentence says where to turn buildings on.

3 · Review on a phone

The same sentence at phone width.

4 · Dark — switched on step 1 with the wizard's own theme control

Unchanged by this PR; shown because the wizard's theme control is here (top right on a phone). The frames after this are in the same browser, so dark carries.

Step 1 in dark theme

5 · Review, dark

Dark theme through the wizard's own toggle; the new sentence uses the body token.

6 · Review, dark, phone

Two critique rounds, against brand-and-design.md

Round 1. The sync sentence and the new Review line are plain English and name one destination, Settings → Buildings, in the words the menu uses. Review sits at three fifths on the bar (step 3 of 5). The step count lives only in the bar, not in visible text, so it is shown in the picture rather than asserted. Found: the new line is a third sentence in the same body style under the heading. Kept: all three sentences are about what happens next, and the line appears only when buildings came in. It never shows on the no-import screen. The desktop theme control sits under the dev-server badge, so dark was switched from the phone layout, where the control is top right. That is a capture detail, not a product change.

Round 2 (these captures). Light and dark, desktop and phone. The new line uses the body token in both themes, wraps cleanly at 390px, and the page does not scroll sideways. There is no Turn on your buildings screen between the import and Review. Nothing was imported to stage: the wizard's built-in fixture is used, as in onboarding-flow.
