Round 1 verdict (Gera, 08-31): the From/To two-field shape "feels more comfortable"; the dual-pane felt overwhelming; and the year arrows weren't real year selection. So: same From → To fields in all three below — they differ ONLY in how you pick the year. All live, click around.

C1Year dropdown above the month grid

The header shows the year as a button — tap it, a scrollable year list drops down, pick the year, then tap the month. One pane, everything one tap deep.

C2Year first, then month (two-step)

The picker opens on a YEAR grid — pick the year, it flips to that year's months, pick the month, done. Exactly your narration: "you select the year and the month for from, then the year and the month for to." A breadcrumb shows where you are, with a back link.
