In plain terms. Do we give Smith a read-only Slack key so its morning self-check can search for every post you tagged with the broken-Claude emoji, keep that search as something a person runs each morning, or accept a narrower search that can miss tags in private DMs? Today that search only works when run as you, so Smith's self-check has gone three runs without it.
The full question, as raised

The daily Smith review cannot run its first step: the hasmy::claude-fail: Slack search must run as you (it is YOUR reactions), and Smith's non-interactive runtime has no credential that can — the plugin Slack MCP is unauthenticated outside an interactive session and there is no user token in env or keychain. Three reviews running (10-03 x2, 10-05) have recorded 'sweep not run', so their scope is UNKNOWN and no completion claim is possible. Which way do we give the review a sweep?

Why, and what was tried
The session raising this recommends: Smith gets a read-only Slack key and runs the search itself
A token stored in the pool/keychain, never a repo, is the only option that makes the review self-sufficient and keeps the measured 58-vs-57 reconcile honest; the rooms-only option hides the gap by definition; the human-run option depends on a person every morning.
Tried first, unsuccessfully: Tried from the review runtime: keychain and env probes (no xoxp token anywhere), the plugin Slack MCP (needs an interactive OAuth — unavailable in a claude -p turn), and the bot-token channel scan (ran complete on all 3 days, but structurally cannot see reactions in conversations Smith is not part of — the 08-27 Gera<->Fede DM case). None yields the hasmy: search, which is keyed to the human's own reactions; so this is a credential/ownership decision, not something the runner can build around.
