In plain terms. Should Gera reset the finish line on the voice-tool clean-up task? The clean-up step in the nightly sync is fixed and has been green for a week, but the task's finish line still requires merging a pull request Gera closed last Tuesday — so it can never be marked done. Resetting it is the only way the task can close; leaving it means it sits open forever. Nothing about the live system changes either way.
The full question, as raised

This task's done-gate can never pass: its item 1 requires PR #18389 MERGED, but Gera closed #18389 on 2026-10-14 in favour of #18396 (item 2, merged). Re-baseline the gate? This session cannot shrink it — only the human door (drive --replace) may. Item 2 is already done; the only unmet clause of the criterion is 'a 409 from a live dependent still fails the step in a test', which this session has a lane on now.

Why, and what was tried
The session raising this recommends: Reset the finish line to what shipped, plus one piece still in progress
Gera's own close comment on #18389 already settled the substance: the red step is fixed by #18396 without an irreversible production write, and purging the leftover duplicates 'needs its own human decision rather than riding on this PR'. The gate is simply still pointing at the PR he declined. Two of the three things the criterion asks for are already true and verified on real runs: the clean-up step went green 5 minutes after #18396 landed (run 38051551148) and has stayed green every run for a week, with all 25 leftover tools logged as skipped and each holder named (420 of 420 holder lines read 'agent deleted 404' — zero live holders). The only clause still unmet is that a 409 from a live dependent should fail the step loudly; today every 409 skips. That is a code change with no production write, so this session dispatched it rather than asking. The third option is the irreversible delete he already declined.
Tried first, unsuccessfully: Not sent to the decider: shrinking an acceptance gate is reserved to the human door by design (the driver skill permits making a gate harder, never easier), so no model rung may rule on it. The substance needed no digging — Gera's own close comment on #18389 is the record.
