In plain terms. When a teammate pastes the same notice to lots of residents by hand, each one shows up on the conversations page as a fresh real conversation and pushes the real ones down: should an identical note sent to three or more residents within an hour count as a mass text and stop bumping the list? Picking yes means those notes stop moving threads up while a resident's reply still brings the thread back; picking the last option leaves the page as it is today.
The full question, as raised
Staff-typed mass texts (one teammate pasting the same EN/ES notice to many residents, outside AppFolio's mass-send feature) show on /conversations as real recent exchanges, so a blast tops the list (your :claude-fail: on Fede's 'well they are but typed by a human lol', 11-02). The list clock only skips a mirrored send when the PMS marks it bulk (listClockFieldOf in src/lib/domain/conversations/last-send.ts). How should we tell a human-typed blast from a real text?
Why, and what was tried
The session raising this recommends: Same note to three-plus residents within an hour counts as a mass text Fede confirmed these are copy-pasted bodies to many people, so an exact-body match catches them with no guessing about 'type'; a resident's reply still surfaces the thread; an LLM pass can be added on top later if false negatives appear. Tried first, unsuccessfully: Read last-send.ts (listClockFieldOf only trusts pmsMirror.senderKind === 'bulk') and the 11-02 DM: you called a 'same type' heuristic sloppy and Fede asked for an LLM layer, so the detector's shape is a product choice, not a mechanics one; the review did not ship either.
