1In #engineering-bridge, Smith answered 177 of the 183 messages Trinity sent it in 24h (10-06 13:00Z..10-07 13:00Z) — about 360 bot messages in the channel where Fede asked 'TLDR?' three times. Which bridge messages should Smith answer?

In plain terms. Should Smith reply to the other bot only when it is actually asked something? Right now the two bots trade hundreds of messages a day in the engineering channel, which buries what you and Fede need to read.
Why, and what was tried
The session raising this recommends: Reply only when asked something; react to the rest
Fede's rule: repeated automated traffic gets a reaction, not a message; the asks still get answered and the channel stays readable
Tried first, unsuccessfully: Measured the volume from the conversation log (183 in / 177 out); the hop cap only bounds one thread, nothing bounds the day; a code fix needs this rule first
